The ballpoint-like click mechanism on the Pilot Vanishing Point Blue Matte fountain pen allows the nib to extend and retract, while a hidden trap-door mechanism guards against dry-out. The Pilot Vanishing Point is a cartridge-converter pen - it can be filled with any bottled fountain pen ink using the provided converter, and can also use Pilot-Namiki brand ink cartridges.
