Monteverde MP1 Starry Night - Fountain Pen + 15ml Blue Ink Bottle

MONTEVERDE MP1 STARRY NIGHT NUMBERED EDITION
FINE ART SERIES

For more than 25 years, Monteverde USA has combined thoughtful engineering with bold creative expression. Known for quality writing instruments, vibrant inks and dependable performance, Monteverde continues to make premium writing accessible to collectors and everyday writers around the world.

The MP1 Fine Art Series marks a new chapter for Monteverde’s first piston-fill fountain pen, transforming a precision writing instrument into a canvas for artistic expression. In place of the anodized finishes found on the original MP1, the Fine Art Series uses an advanced, high-resolution printing process to reproduce celebrated works of art directly on the pen’s surface with exceptional color, depth and detail.

The collection pays tribute to influential artists including Vincent van Gogh, Henri Matisse, Antoni Gaudí and Piet Mondrian, translating their distinctive visual styles into functional works of art that can be enjoyed every day.

The Monteverde MP1 Starry Night Numbered Edition is inspired by Vincent van Gogh’s The Starry Night, painted in 1889 during one of the most significant creative periods of his life. Each pen is individually numbered, giving it a unique identity within the Fine Art Series.

Van Gogh’s masterpiece is defined by movement and emotion. Deep blues and luminous yellows sweep across the sky in energetic, swirling patterns. The stars radiate with light, the moon glows intensely and every brushstroke guides the eye through a night sky that feels alive rather than still. This expressive artwork wraps around the MP1, turning the pen into a moving canvas.

At the heart of the MP1 Starry Night Numbered Edition is Monteverde’s innovative one-piece grip section and crystal-clear barrel, crafted as one seamless transparent component. This uninterrupted construction enhances durability, provides a smooth and natural feel in the hand and offers a clear view of the ink reservoir. The transparent body creates a striking contrast with the richly colored artwork while maintaining excellent balance and comfort during extended writing sessions.

The front section is permanently integrated into the barrel and should not be unscrewed.

The pen features a precision-crafted stainless-steel cap and a lightweight aluminum blind cap. The stainless-steel cap provides a durable surface for the Starry Night artwork while offering excellent resistance to wear and corrosion. Reproducing the painting’s complex colors and flowing details requires a carefully controlled, multi-stage printing process carried out with exceptional precision and consistency.

The aluminum blind cap is finished in a rich solid-color lacquer selected to complement the artwork while keeping the pen comfortably balanced. Beneath it is Monteverde’s Lock-It™ piston mechanism, designed to secure the piston and help prevent accidental movement during writing or transport.

Writing performance is delivered by a premium #6 JoWo stainless-steel nib, known for its smoothness and consistency. The nib is available in six point sizes: Extra Fine, Fine, Medium, Broad, Stub and Omniflex. It is paired with a plasma-treated feed system that maintains steady, controlled ink flow across a wide range of writing styles.

The integrated piston-filling system draws ink directly from a bottle, eliminating the need for cartridges. Its generous 2 ml polycarbonate ink reservoir reduces refill frequency, making the MP1 ideal for extended writing, journaling, sketching and other creative work.

Assembled at Monteverde headquarters in California, USA, each MP1 Starry Night Numbered Edition reflects the brand’s commitment to careful assembly, quality control and precision engineering.

More than a fountain pen, the MP1 Starry Night Numbered Edition is an individually numbered tribute to emotion in motion—where fine art leaves the canvas and becomes part of the writing experience.
